George P. Regan

George P. Regan, age 72, entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2018, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. 

George was born in Derby on March 24, 1946, son of the late William and Eloise Buehler Regan. He faithfully served for twenty years with the United States Marine Corp, where he saw action in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He was later employed as a groundskeeper at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby and retired from the City of Derby Department of Public Works. George was a member of St. Sebastian Men’s Club in Ansonia and Lafayette Athletic Club in Derby and former usher at St. Mary’s Church in Derby.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, David Carroll Regan of Oxnard, CA, sisters, Barbara Regan of Seymour, Eloise Ballard-Raymond (William) of Naugatuck and Kathleen Malerba of Ansonia and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, James Regan, William Regan and Ernest Regan and sisters, Margaret Conklin and Mildred DelVecchio. 

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday November 1, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, his funeral will begin at 10:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Interment with U.S. Marine Corp honors will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
