Gerald Francis O’Donovan passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 23,2024, at the age of 89 in Shelton CT. He was born in da Bronx on March 13, 1935.
He married the love of his life, Eileen, on November 17, 1956. Together they built a life of love and family.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattan College while working at IBM and raising four spirited children. He continued a successful career at IBM for over 30 years.
To us he was Dad, Daddy, Pop, Daddio, Partner, Grandpapa, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother-in-law, Father-in-law, Uncle, Godfather, the voice of reason, our moral compass, and the center of our universe.
He loved to swim laps in the ocean and loved summers at the shore with his family. He was a passionate gardener with a gifted green thumb along with having an affinity for the ‘ponies’.
He was a devout Catholic and his faith was his guiding light. He loved every minute of his life. A gentleman with a gentle heart, he will be missed greatly and remembered lovingly for his warm smile and kind spirit.
Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am in St. Margaret Mary Church 50 Donovan Lane Shelton. Burial will be held in Mount Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY
