Geraldine “Gerry” Marie Soublet, age 77, passed away Jan. 1, 2024 with her children by her side. She was born Nov. 1, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Vera Woods Delvaille and Albert Soublet. Gerry met and married her former husband the late Huey Jacob Young. They later relocated to Connecticut.
Gerry is survived by her three children, daughter Schronda Bostic and her husband Bernard of Ansonia, daughter Angela Young-Klanko of California and her son Huey Young and his wife Stephanie of Prospect. Gerry is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Bernard Bostic Jr and his wife Stephanie, Jaden Young and Chase Young. She was recently blessed with her first great grandchild, Jacob Bernard Bostic.
Gerry was an employee of Griffin Hospital for 51 years as a Central Processing Technician. She retired as a lead technician of CPD. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going out to dinner, going to the casino, playing lottery and shopping. Most of all, Gerry was an advocate for those close to her, offering her help and guidance when needed. Along with her children, she leaves her brother Charles Delvaille of Middletown, several nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by her brother George Delvaille, sister Joyce Delvaille Slaughter, nephew Charles Delvaille Jr. and most recently sister Vera “Cookie” Delvaille Williams.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. 06401. Friends may call from 10:00- 12:00pm, with Memorial services following. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The American Cancer Society
