Geraldine T. (Gerry) Herrin, age 66 of Shelton entered into rest on Monday March 9, 2015 in Griffin Hospital Derby. She is the devoted wife of Danny Joe Herrin.
Gerry was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on September 30, 1948 daughter of the late Clyde and Rosemary (Fox) Giles, and has been a Shelton resident since 1970. She grew up in Milford, and graduated from Milford High School.
In 1968 she joined the U.S. Navy and later returned to CT where she graduated from Housatonic Community College. Gerry was a member of the Sutter Terlizzi American Legion Post # 16 in Shelton, and was employed by the Bilco Company for the past 18 years, and General Electric prior to that.
She is the beloved mother of Kelly Herrin, of Seymour,Danny Joe (D.J.) Herrin, Jr., and his wife Shaun, of Derby. She is the loving grandmother of Jordan Herrin, of Seymour, Ashley and Jessica Herrin, of Derby, and Samantha Kari Brouillette, of Shelton. She is the cherished sister of Mary Scully, of Branford, and the late Marlene Pieger. She is the caring aunt of James Pieger,of Stratford, and Missy Pieger of Milford,. She also leaves her loving aunt Jeanne Fox of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Friends may greet her family Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Thursday a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with full military honors. Burial will take place in the spring in Riverside Cemetery.
