Gerard Leon Shuster, age 82, of Milford, died peacefully at Milford Hospital on July 25, 2015. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Marie Greco Shuster.
He was born in Shelton on February 10, 1933, son of the late John and Rose Urbanowicz Shuster.
He attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School and Heating and Plumbing School of New Haven.
Gerard served 2 years in the US Army. He went to work for Ralph Mann and Sons until he opened the former Giamario and Shuster Oil Company, Inc. He was a former member of East Side Italian American Club and a former member of Catholic War Veterans. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Besides his loving wife, he leaves two sons Gary G. Shuster and his wife Andrea of Southington and Jeffrey G. Shuster and his wife Michelle of Huntington, four grandchildren Nichole, Andrew, Melissa, and Victoria Shuster, one brother Len Shuster and two sisters Martha Piwowarski and Rosemarie Varsanik, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his half brother Bruno, Walter, and Zeke Shuster, Anthony Jacevich and sister Anna Garoszewski Leon.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral will leave the funeral home at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary Church, Derby. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
