Giuseppina Bufi, age 77, entered eternal rest on September 29, 2024, in her home in Ansonia.
She was the beloved wife of Cosmo Bufi. Giuseppina was born in Porto Empedocle, Sicily, Italy on October 6, 1946, daughter of the late Ida Caruana Giaimo. She immigrated from Italy in 1966 and resided in Ansonia. Giuseppina was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family. Her greatest joys were taking care of her grandchildren and cooking.
In addition to her husband Cosmo, Giuseppina leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Daniele Bufi of Ansonia, daughters, Gina M. Proto (Ronald) of East Haven and Lisa Bufi of Ansonia, a brother, Natale Giaimo (Biagia) of Ansonia, sisters, Giovanna Zeppegno of Florida, Gina Giaimo of Florida, and Domenica Izzo (Joseph) of Ansonia, grandchildren, Marcello, Antonio and Giovanni Proto, Cosmo Bufi, Martin and Joseph Eaton and Nadia and Daniel Bufi along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Giuseppe Vaiana.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
