Glenn W. Far, age 58 of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday September 9, 2013 in Derby.
Glenn was born in New Haven on June 20, 1955, beloved son of Vincent and Jean (Zeuren) Far of Shelton, and has been a lifelong Shelton resident.
He graduated from Emmett O’ Brien Technical School as a member of the class of 1973.
Glenn went on to a 40 year career in welding.
He was a CT Licensed Welder who owned and operated, GFW Welding in Derby, and was a member of Local Union 478 Operating Engineers.
Glenn was a was a very active member of the A.M. Club in Derby and a veteran member of the Echo Hose Hook and Ladder Fire Co. #1.
He enjoyed cooking, fishing , and target shooting with his father.
Glenn is the loving brother of Chris Far and his wife Mary Ann, cherished uncle of Jacqueline Far Ribalaigua, and her husband Alex, and Elizabeth Far Clement and her husband Justin, and Michael Opitz.
He is the adored great uncle of Dylan Ribalaigua.
Glenn also leaves his loving companion Joan Verostek, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may greet his family on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road Shelton.
On Saturday family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Margaret Mary Church 380 Long Hill Ave. in Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Derby.
