Gloria Fainer, age 86, wife of the late Stephen Fainer and Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 21, 2010 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 4, 1923 in Astoria, Queens, N.Y., daughter of the late Alonzo and Edna Keenan Crane, and was raised in Shelton by Elizabeth and John Sheehy.
Gloria was a parishioner of The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and was a member of the Ansonia Senior Center and The Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Patricia Fainer of Wilmington, N.C., Maureen Witzmann & her husband Joe of Ansonia, Stephen Fainer of Waterbury, Barbara Fainer of Naugatuck, Donna Seresin of Hamden, Jerome Fainer of Ansonia, Eileen Krugel of Ansonia and James Fainer & his wife Sandra of Ansonia, as well as 12 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
Gloria is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Albert Sheehy of Chappaqua, N.Y., Nathaniel Havernan of Shelton and a very special friend Lillian Kucia of Ansonia.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Gloria Martin and her brother John Sheehy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. with friends asked to go directly to the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St. Ansonia.
Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
