Gloria L. (Lawrence) Karlok, age 78, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 7, 2021, in the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury after suffering a stroke five days earlier. She was the beloved wife of John D. Karlok.
Gloria was born in Burlington, Vermont on December 28, 1942, daughter of the late Clifford and Elsie LaFlam Lawrence. She resided in the Valley area until moving to Vermont and later settling in Stewartstown, New Hampshire. Gloria was employed as a secretary at Norton Corporation in Milford, New Hampshire until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and taking walks each day.
In addition to her husband John, she leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Christopher J. Karlok of Stewartstown, NH, brothers, Ronald Lawrence of Ansonia, Gerald Lawrence (Cynthia) of Naugatuck, sisters, Joyce Morello of Beacon Falls, Jean Sember of Ansonia and Dolly Eberle of VA, grandchildren, Halley Marie Karlok, Dylan Karlok, Kevin Karlok and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the loving mother to her late son, Daniel John Karlok.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 10:30 am (Directly) at the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff Street in Ansonia, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment of her cremains will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Mausoleum in Derby.
