Gordon L. Kelsey, age 71, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital, with his family by his bedside. He was the beloved husband of forty-five years to Sharon A. Bertrand Kelsey.
Gordon was born in Cortland, New York on November 20, 1951, son of the late Leon and Anna Chapman Kelsey. He grew up in Seymour, lived in Ansonia for many years, before moving to Naugatuck eighteen years ago. Gordon was employed as an industrial electrician at Marmon Utility LLC/Kerite Co. in Seymour since 1979. He was an avid bowler participating in several leagues throughout the years. Gordon also enjoyed playing golf and was always searching out a new roller coaster to ride. His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Sharon, he leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Dawn Buckley (Franklin Jr.) of Ansonia, granddaughters, Cassandra and Samantha Doohan, Sonia Doohan-Tandon, and Kelsey Buckley, daughter-in-law, Dr. Sapna Tandon of Orange, brothers, William Kelsey (Susan) of FL, David Kelsey (Linda) of Ansonia and Timothy Kelsey of West Haven, sisters, Patricia Clark of NY, and Katherine Faria (John) of Seymour, several nieces and nephews, especially, David and Grace Faria and many friends. He was predeceased by sons, Robert, and John Doohan and his brother, Donald L. Kelsey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside funeral service on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Road in Seymour.
