Gretchen Aldrich, age 54, of Shelton entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday February 15, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.
She was born in Bridgeport on August 5, 1962 the beloved daughter of Lorraine Donahoe Aldrich, of Shelton, and the late Verne H. Aldrich, and has been a lifelong Shelton resident.
Gretchen was a graduate of Shelton High School Class of 1983, attended VARCA of Derby, and was a clerk at the former Caldors and Syms in Fairfield, and also at Marshall’s in Derby.
Gretchen is the beloved sister of Adele Falco of Shelton, Stephanie Young of Prospect, and the late Chip Aldrich of Prospect. She is the loving sister-in-law of Huey Young, and Sharon Aldrich, and the loving aunt to Nicole Falkowski (Brian), Lauren Falco, Chris Falco, Douglas Aldrich, Gregory Aldrich, Jaden Young, and Chase Young. Gretchen also leaves behind her loving boyfriend of over 30 years, Edward Samoncik of Seymour.
Friends may greet her family on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Monday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church Shelton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
