Hans Spey, age 89, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday January 8, 2013, in the Hewitt Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Goodman Spey.
Mr. Spey was born in Shelton January 14, 1923 son of the late Johan and Alma Schnell Spey. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp during WWII serving in the 4th division that served in Iwo Jima. He was employed for 33 years in the United States Postal Service as a clerk and was a member of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post #16 in Shelton.
He is the father of Thomas Spey, and brother of Ernest Spey and his wife Ann. He also leaves 3 nephews.
Friends may greet his family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. At 10:30 AM there will be a funeral service with Pastor Heather Sinclair of the First United Methodist Church of Shelton officiating. Burial with military honors will be follow in Riverside Cemetery Shelton.
