Harlow J. Geloso, 82, of Woodbridge, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2015, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen Fitzgerald Geloso.
Mr. Geloso was born in Derby on October 18, 1932, son of the late Harry and Rose Marino Geloso. A resident of Woodbridge since 1970, he was the owner and operator of Connecticut Sheet Metal in Bethany until his retirement. He was an active member of Sheet Metal Workers’ Union Local 38 and 40 where he served on the Board of Trustees and committees of apprentice and training and management and negotiating. He served tirelessly as a proponent of the union sheet metal worker. Harlow enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, summers at the family cottage in Beckett, MA, Sunday dinners and building and flying radio controlled model airplanes.
In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by two sons, David H. Geloso (Linda) of Ansonia and James R. Geloso of Woodbridge, four daughters, Kathleen Fioto (Howard) of FL, Maureen Volto (John) of Seymour, Joyce Esposito (Frank) of Orange and Barbara Cuthbert (Stuart) of Bethany, daughter in law, Catherine Geloso of Bethany, brother, Harry Geloso (Betsy) of Beacon Falls, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his canine companion Smokey. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Geloso. The family would like to express deep gratitude to the doctor’s nurses and care givers at Griffin Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Harlow.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday April 23, 2015, at 11:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 81 Center Road in Woodbridge for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the family plot in Carrington Cemetery in Bethany. There will be no public visiting hours. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
