Harold D. Hotchkiss, Jr.

Harold D. Hotchkiss, Jr., age 78, of Seymour, the beloved husband of Helen Parzyck Hotchkiss, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Griffin Hospital in Derby surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Oxford on September 6, 1936, son of the late Harold D. Hotchkiss, Sr. and Jeannette Bearing Hotchkiss.

Harold retired in 2000 after 45 years of employment as a Mender with the Kerite Company of Seymour.

He enjoyed fishing and was an honorary member of the Valley Yacht Club. Harold loved spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to his beloved wife Helen, Harold leaves his sons Harold D. Hotchkiss, III (Denise) of Plymouth, Aaron Hotchkiss (Lisa) of Lakeland, FL and James Hotchkiss of Fort Pierce, FL, his daughter Hope Walker of Jacksonville, FL, his brothers Donald Hotchkiss (Marge) of Oxford and James Hotchkiss of Texas, his sisters Carol Cochran (Ernest) of Tampa, Florida and Wendy Landals (William) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, his 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

A Prayer Service will be offered on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 7:30 pm in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. All other services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial gifts in Harold’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
