Harold (Hobbs) S. Keller passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2017 surrounded by his family.
He has joined his beloved wife, Laura, of 66 years who passed in October.
He began his working years in his family’s plumbing business, but it was a move to Derby Gas & Electric that defined his life. While recovering from an industrial accident working there, he met Laura, the love of his life. Soon after his recovery, they married. Harold retired from Sikorsky in 1992 after 32 years working in final assembly.
Harold leaves behind his daughter Deborah of Shelton, his son David and his wife Donna and their sons Stefan and Joseph of Bethany and daughter Wendy and her husband Ken of Boston and their children Casey and his wife Rhea of ME and Elena and her husband Jeff of MA. He also leaves two great-grandchildren – Colt and Cecelia Rae.
Hobbs spent many years as a volunteer fireman and treasurer at Echo Hose and as a Boy Scout troop leader, but truly loved his lifelong membership at the Church of the Good Shepherd where he served with pleasure for many years as both Junior and Senior Warden. Harold loved his family, his church and doing the right thing. His actions always spoke louder than his words and helping others, especially with his time, was a guiding force.
