Harold T. “Unk” Andrew, a 76 year old resident of Derby and former longtime Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest August 20. He was born May 22, 1935 in Derby, son of the late Leslie and Marjorie Rawley Andrew. Harold was a parishioner of The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia, worked for 33 years at the former Evening Sentinel, and retired from The Amity School System. He was a member and Past Captain of The Webster Hose Fire Company and a member of the Ansonia and Derby Senior Centers.
He is survived by his sister Marjorie Pawlak of Ansonia, nieces Terri Ptak & her husband Mark of Seymour & Renee Pawlak of Ansonia, nephew Kenneth Pawlak & his wife Cheryl of Ansonia, and great niece Brooke & great nephews Brett & Owen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with friends asked to go directly to The Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Friends may call on Monday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold’s memory may be made to his church.
