Harriet B. Niezelski

Harriet B. Niezelski, age 100, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2021, in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Niezelski. 


Harriet was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 13, 1921, daughter of the late Anthony and Ursula Pajewski. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at the former Fairfield Hills in Newtown and later in life at the former Derby Nursing Home. 

Harriet was a devout communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia, volunteered as an aide at the former St. Joseph Grammar School, and was also a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Thomas A. Niezelski Jr. (Kathleen) of Oxford, a daughter, Natalie A. Biasucci of Ansonia, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James D. Niezelski and a sister, Louise Blackiewicz. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 11:00 am, meeting directly at St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Inurnment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
