Harriette H. Martin, age 97 a lifelong resident of Seymour entered into peaceful rest December 10, 2011 in Torrington; she was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Martin.
Mrs. Martin was born in Seymour on August 20, 1914, daughter of the late Harry A. and Amelia (Gressot) Healey.
Harriette was a retired School Lunch Director for the Town of Seymour which she did for 31 years. Following her retirement, she continued to volunteer at the schools with the lunch programs and also mentoring students. Mrs. Martin was a Registered Nurse; she also had a genuine love of gardening.
Harriette leaves her loving family including 3 sons, William H. Warnock of Burke, VA, Robert Warnock of Ramona, OK, and John Warnock of Thelma, KY, 2 step-daughters, Virginia Gerchy of Corona, CA, and Patricia Hutt of Naugatuck, a sister, Katherine Rossignol of New Milford, many grand and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her brother Harry Healey and sisters, Alice Sertic, Elizabeth Brice, and Julia Stone, and step-son William Martin predeceased her.
A graveside service will take place in the springtime. There are no calling hours. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour has care of the arrangements.
