Hazel Hummel

Hazel Hummel, age 80, wife of the late Franklin Hummel and resident of Ansonia, Died Nov. 12. 

She was born Sept. 29, 1930 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Harold and Mary McLaughlin Tingley. 

She worked as a bank teller and later assistant manager for the former Union Trust Bank in Derby. She served as Registrar of Voters in Ansonia until her time of passing. Survivors include four sons, Mark Hummel of Shelton, Erik Hummel of Southbury, Kirk Hummel of Oxford & Clark Hummel & his wife Joann of Wallingford, her sister Joyce Robison of Austin, TX, six grandchildren, Erik Tracey & Sara, Gabrielle, Elise & Trevor Hummel and one great-grandson Alex. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, Ct. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends may call on Monday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice Home Care for all the loving care they gave to Hazel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
