Helen A. Chosczyk, age 92, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 11, 2018, surrounded by family, at Griffin Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of almost sixty-six years to Joseph J. Chosczyk.
Mrs. Chosczyk was born in Shelton on May 29, 1925, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Dobrovansky Manna. A resident of Ansonia for over sixty years, she worked as a secretary at Sikorsky Aircraft, retiring to raise her family. Helen enjoyed baking and cooking, tending to her garden, visiting the casino, navigating on her iPad and especially spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
In addition to her husband Joe, she leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Joseph “Jay” Chosczyk (Elaine) of Ansonia, a daughter, Carol A. Grabinski (Leo) of Woodbridge, brothers, Frank Manna (Diana) of Bolton and Emil Manna (Berit) of Madison, precious grandchildren, Amy Grabinski, Ryan Grabinski (Casey) and Alexander Chosczyk, three step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Bilka and two step-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 15, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Jude Church in Derby. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
