Helen B. Henri, 79, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2012, in the comfort of her home.
She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Henri Sr.
Mrs. Henri was born in Bridgeport on Sept. 21, 1933, daughter of the late John and Sophie Heissner Szafko. A resident of Ansonia since 1962, Helen was a “stay at home mom,” who sold Avon products for 35 years. Helen enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, tag sales, dollar stores, feeding the birds and watching butterflies.
She also enjoyed Sunday morning breakfasts with “the girls,” and traveling with her best friend Winnie, who also recently passed.
She is survived by three sons, John J. Henri Jr. (Eileen) of Derby, Patrick A. Henri (Cheryl) of Ansonia, and Thomas K. Henri (Tracy) of Ansonia, a daughter, Lisabeth M. Hemingway (Shawn) of Ansonia, a brother, John Szafko (Peggy) of NC, formerly of Milford, seven cherished grandchildren, Sean, Justin, Kevin, Ronald, and Ashlyn Henri and Nicholas and Tiffany Wheaton, two great-granddaughters, Tianna and Justice, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday Dec. 30, 2012, from 2 – 5 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
On Monday Dec. 31, 2012, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 8:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia.
Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army through the funeral home.
