Helen Bosik, age 97, of Shelton, longtime resident of Oxford, entered into eternal rest on Sunday August 25th, 2024. Helen was born on September 4, 1926 in Derby to the late Peter and Catherine Pysz. Helen attended Derby High School, and graduated the class of 1945. She was a teacher’s aide for the Seymour Board of Education and was involved with the Special Olympics.
Helen was predeceased by her late husband Alexander Bosik, her son Mark Bosik, brothers Martin, Freddy, Eugene, Joseph, John and Henry Pysz, as well as sisters Irene and Theresa Wisneski. She is survived by her son Stephen Bosik of Oxford, granddaughter Ashley Chickos and husband Matt of Seymour, grandson Jason Vento and wife Michaela of Maine, daughter in law June Bosik and brother Peter Pysz and wife Sandy of Kentucky. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Nathan, William, Jett, Lily, Marlee as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may meet at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road in Shelton on Thursday August 29th from 8:30 – 10:00 am. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 am for a mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church in Shelton at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby CT.
