Helen J. Clarke, age 93, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 7, 2019, at the Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton. She was the devoted wife of 60 years of Albert A. Clarke. Helen was born in Shelton on December 7, 1926, daughter of the late Clemin “John” and Johanna “Tessie” Krill, and was a lifelong resident of Shelton.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She also was always there to help others when needed. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener who took pride in her yellow roses. Helen enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the wildlife. She was especially fond of Cardinals.
She is the beloved mother of Linda Richard and her husband Thomas and James Clarke and his wife Patricia. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Thomas Richard and his husband Alex and Jeffrey Richard and his wife Danielle, her sister Dorothy Hillman, and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM. On Monday, friends are invited to her funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Hospital Wellness Center, 350 Seymour Avenue, Derby, CT 06418.
