Helen Smerznak, a 90 year old lifelong resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest March 5.
She was born March 11, 1924 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Cornelius & Anna Soltys Smerznak.
She worked as an office clerk for Better Packages of Shelton and retired from Ascom Haslet Mailing Systems in Shelton.
She was a parishioner of the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church of Ansonia and a member of the Ansonia, Derby & Seymour Senior Centers.
Helen was predeceased by 2 brothers, John & Stephen Smerznak and 4 sisters, Anna Smerznak, Mary Medak, Nancy Mazzucco & Jessie Kidwell.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9th 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Three Saints Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia, CT 06401. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Per her wishes, there are no calling hours.
Donations in her memory may be made to her church.
