Helen T. (Kuzia) Majoros, 92, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2014, at Griffin Hospital. She was married to the late Joseph A. Majoros for 36 years.
Helen was born in Ansonia on February 28, 1922, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Kandybowicz Kuzia. A resident of Ansonia for most of her life, she was employed as an executive secretary at BG Goodrich and later at William C. Atwater & Sons Insurance Agency until her retirement in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Derby. Helen was known for her kindness, caring and love for her family.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to crochet and knit, read almost any book, play scrabble with family members, work on crossword and word jumble puzzles. After her retirement she looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren, travels with her supper club, tag sales with her sister Jennie and meetings with the Renew Prayer Group at St. Joseph Church.
Helen is survived by her children, Joseph F. Majoros (Ruth) of Seymour, Walter A. Majoros (Lori) of Juneau, AK and Helene M. Vartelas (John) of Cromwell, grandchildren, Stephen Majoros, Matthew Majoros, Jesse Majoros, Katherine Vartelas and Geoffrey Vartelas and two great-grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by several nephews and niece, Christine Furlo as well as very good friend, Chesterlyn Green. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Jennie Furlo, brothers, Frank and Walter Kuzia and niece, Jennie Marino.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 7, 2014, from 2 – 5 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will be held at 9:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Michael Church in Derby. Interment will take place in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby.
