Helen was born on April 1, 1926 in Ansonia and passed away peacefully on March 13, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 85.
She was the wife of the late Peter (Muzzy) Musante of Ansonia, Connecticut.
She is survived by her daughter Jody (Ed) Willis and her grandson Timm of Seymour, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the former co-owner of Muzzy’s Confectionary in Ansonia.
She was predeceased by her parents Michael (Timko) Zelem and Anna Karasinsky Zelem as well as siblings Pat, Toshi, Mary, Joe, and John.
She was also predeceased by her beloved grandson Christopher James Willis.
She was born and lived most of her life in Ansonia until moving to the Glendale Nursing Home in Naugatuck. She enjoyed playing bingo as well as Wii Bowling.
She was an avid sports fan and followed the UCONN Women Huskies as well as strangely enough rooting for both the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of the Glendale Nursing Home as well as the staff of Waterbury Hospital.
Helen has chosen to donate her body to Yale University School of Medicine. There will be no calling hours.
