Helen Zaniewski, age 85, of Derby, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 20, 2013, at the Willows in Woodbridge. She was the wife of the late Maximilian Zaniewski.
Mrs. Zaniewski, was born in Seymour, on August 24, 1928, daughter of the late Samuel Jesiel, and Victoria Lemza Jesiel. A graduate of Seymour High School. She lived most of her life in Derby. She was a communicant of St. Jude’s Church, in Derby. She was employed at Waterman Pen Co. in Seymour for many years before continuing her career at U.S. Surgical in Norwalk and North Haven for 15 more years as an inspector and assembler before her retirement in June of 1994. She also enjoyed crocheting,cooking,baking and traveling.
She leaves two loving sons Max Zaniewski and his wife Pam of Woodbridge, and Richard Zaniewski and his wife Barbara of Bethany. She also leaves five loving grandsons who she loved to spend time with, Daniel, Douglas, Max, Tyler, and Brett Zaniewski. She was predeceased by two brothers Francis and John Jesiel, and a sister Blanche Jesiel.
Her family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the loving, and caring staff at both the Willows, and Hilltop Health Care Centers for the exceptional care they provided for our Mom (AKA “Seymour-Seymour”) for the past seven years. There are so many individuals we would love to name, however you know who you are and we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Friends may greet her family on Wednesday from 8:30 am to 9:45 am in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. At 10:00 AM her funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Jude’s Church Derby. Burial will follow in Mt.St. Peter Cemetery Derby.
