Henrietta Fritz, age 94, of Derby entered into rest on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Raphael Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the devoted wife of the late Stanley E. “Tom” Fritz. Henrietta was born in Derby on April 21, 1928 and was a lifelong valley resident.
She was the beloved mother of Robert Fritz and the late Thomas Fritz, loving grandmother of Jessica Welch and her husband Matthew and also Tammy DeLand and her husband Matt. She was the best great grandmother to Emma, Violet and Ethan DeLand, making sure they were spoiled on birthdays and holidays. Henrietta was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
She loved taking care of her family was happiest when she was surrounded by them. She loved watching her great-grandchildren and seeing them grow up. The last few summers, she enjoyed spending time at Owenego Beach Club in Branford and always said that it made her feel like she was on vacation when she was there. She used to love cooking and she loved eating even more. Her favorite things being waffles, chicken pot pot, mashed potatoes and lasagna.
Henrietta was happiest with the simple things in life. She enjoyed staying home and was always so proud of the life she built for her and her family. She was full of wisdom and will be missed by many.
Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:15 AM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Michael Church. Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
