Henry Frank Sciongay, Sr., age 91, of Shelton entered into rest on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at home with his loving family by his side.
He was the devoted husband of the late Florence (Moulthrop) Sciongay.
Henry was born in Derby on December 13, 1928 son of the late Frank and Teofilia (Kasuba) Sciongay and was a lifelong Shelton resident. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during Korea. Henry was an employee of Shelton Manufacturing for many years before working at Seymour Brass until his retirement. He enjoyed walking, gardening, working in his yard, clam digging, mushroom picking, camping and bird watching.
Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Henry was the beloved father of Cindy Ayeli and her husband Shahriar, Gail Adamson and Henry Frank Sciongay, Jr. and Linda Judt/Sciongay and brother in law of Charlene Callaham.
He was the loving grandfather of Kayvon Ayeli, Clarence Higbee, Marcie Pisacano, Amy Sciongay and Elliott Sciongay and great grandfather of Rylie Ayeli, Michael Pisacano, Luke Higbee, Remi Ayeli and Allison Higbee. Henry was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton.
Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. Friends can meet at Riverside Cemetery, 308 River Rd., Shelton for his graveside service at 12:45 PM. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.
