Henry Gerard Poirier, age 73, of Ansonia, passed away on May 10, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Judith Sullivan Poirier.
Mr. Poirier was born in Bridgeport on October 12, 1945, son of the late Thomas and Germaine Paul Poirier. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 362nd Combat Engineers Battalion during the Vietnam Era. Following his distinguished military service, Henry dedicated himself to his family’s business, ABC Fence Company. Outside of work, his passions included cooking, reading, scuba diving, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a gentle soul with a warm, compassionate heart.
In addition to his wife Judy, he leaves to cherish his memory, loving sons, Matthew J. Poirier (Maria) of Beacon Falls and Michael G. Poirier (Sonia) of Providence Forge, VA, a loving daughter, Adrienne Tomlinson (Scott) of Seymour, a brother, Adrian Poirier of Bridgeport, grandchildren, Christian Poirier, Mikayla Poirier, Zander Klein, Ava Tomlinson, Jacqueline Poirier, Riley Tomlinson, Zoe Klein and Samantha Poirier and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Poirier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Henry’s funeral on Saturday May 18, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial. United States Army military honors will be accorded following Mass. Burial will be private.
