Hubert James (Jimmy) Brown, Jr., age 83, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the beloved husband of June Elizabeth (Brady) Brown. Jimmy was born in Bridgeport, on October 1, 1940 son of the late Hubert James and Anne (Quick) Brown and was a Shelton resident for most of his life.
He was a typesetter at the CT Post for many years prior to his retirement. Jimmy was also a former tax collector for the City of Bridgeport.
He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and was an avid sports fan. Most of all, he loved all animals, especially his cat Rollie.
Hubert was the brother of Albert Brown and his wife Sharon.
On Friday, friends may greet the family from 9:30 — 10:30 AM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM for his graveside service at 11:00 AM at Lawn Cemetery East, 40 Lane St., Shelton.
