Illuminato “Louie” Manganello, 68, entered into eternal rest on Friday evening, August 19, 2016, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lorenza DiPaola Manganello.
Louie was born in Collesano, Palermo, Sicily, Italy on September 9, 1947, son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Corsello Manganello. He came to Ansonia from Italy in 1969 and was employed as a carpenter for Bushka Lumber and later American Millwork in Waterbury. Louie enjoyed playing cards and watching soccer.
In addition to his wife Lorenza, he is survived by loving sons, Salvatore Manganello of Naugatuck and Rosario Manganello of Ansonia, a brother, Antonio Manganello (Sandra) of Ansonia, cherished granddaughters, Lana Josephine and Francesca Rose Manganello, nephew, Anthony Manganello of Ansonia, cousins, Joseph Ilardi (Ann Marie) and Cosmo Manganello (Bianca) of Ansonia and several aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy. He was predeceased by his daughter in law, Gina Manganello.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday August 23, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday, friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. James Sullivan officiating. Visiting will also be held from 9:00 am until the service. Entombment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Mausoleum in Derby.
