Iona Hale, age 92, wife of the late Frank Hale and resident of Ansonia, passed away at home March 19. She was born Dec. 8, 1921 in Taylorsville, Pennsylvania.
Children were a special joy for her, and in addition to being a mother and babysitter, she was over the years a loving parent to over 25 foster children.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Linda MacLean and her husband Hugh of Branford and Deborah Hansen and her husband Keith of Ansonia, with whom she resided, her brother Calvin Isenberg of Indiana, PA, as well as four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her two brothers, William and Richard, and three sisters, Emma, Margaret and Avonelle.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends may call on Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
