Irene H. Starzec, age 93, a lifelong resident of Derby entered into rest in her home on Thursday November 30, 2017.
She was born in Derby on June 18, 1924 the daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Slupski) Starzec.
Irene worked as the secretary to the president of Bank of America until her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church.
Irene is survived by her niece Irene Marti, nephew Robert Browning, loving friends Monica and John Rak, Margaret Stochmal Mattei, as well as several cousins and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Julian Starzec and Edmund “Red” Starzec, her sisters Sally Shamansky, Stella Browning, Hermina Starzec, and Chesterine Starzec, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to greet Irene’s family on Monday December 4 from 9:30 to 11 AM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:15 AM for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 75 Derby Ave. Derby. Her burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
