Jacalyn Rae Bennetta (Jacki) of Shelton CT passed away on December 31st. with her family by her side, at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center of Shelton CT. Jacki was born on September 24, 1952 in Newport Vermont to the late Merrill (Manny) and Rachel (McNamara) Thompson of Glover Vermont.
Jacki had a distinguished career in the Healthcare industry. She worked at several area facilities over her lifetime including Masonicare Hospice.
Prior to retirement in January 2016 she was a RN/Nursing Supervisor at Wesley Village-Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center for many years. Still working at the facility per-diem until recently, she felt the staff was her second family. Jacki had many interest, quilting being her favorite pass time. If you were fortunate to receive one of her quilts as a gift, you knew it came with much love and hours of dedication.
Jacki was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband: Joseph Bennetta of Shelton CT, retired Teamster Union Official Local 191, daughter: Judith, (Jeff) Richard of Oxford CT, sister: Rebecca Twombly of Shelton CT, grandsons: Benjamin and Brian Richard of Oxford CT, these two boys were the light of her life, Stepchildren Justine Giglio & Family of Shelton CT, Jolene Chapman & Family of Ansonia CT, Joseph Bennetta & Family of Derby CT, nephew: Chad Twombly & Family of Oxford CT and her beloved dog RIO.
Friends may visit with her family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, CT. Her funeral service will start at 6:30 pm Wednesday night in the funeral Home. Spring Interment will be held at a date to be announced in Pleasantview Cemetery in Orleans Vermont.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be sent to United Methodist Home State of, 580 Long Hill Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484 in memory of Jacki Bennetta.
