Jacqueline B. (Boulay) Sarkes

Jacqueline B. (Boulay) Sarkes, age 88, entered into eternal rest on December 28, 2022, at The Willows in Woodbridge. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Sarkes. 

Jacqueline was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on February 3, 1934, daughter of the late Alfred and Leda Taylor Boulay. She was a resident of Ansonia and Seymour for most of her life. Jacqueline was employed for Union Central Insurance/Ameritas Life Insurance Company, until her retirement. She was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church in Seymour where she attended daily Mass. Through the church, Jacqueline helped prepare meals for The Spooner House in Shelton as well as being an active member of its choir and quilting guild. Her love of quilting went beyond her church and she proudly sewed over thirty quilts by hand. Jacqueline loved shopping and was a veracious reader and enjoyed puzzles. 

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Diane S. Krivda of Ansonia, sons, Ronald V. Schmecker (Elizabeth) of Naugatuck and David A. Christman of East Windsor, sisters, Monica Lombardi of Seymour and Claire Gagne (Raymond) of Ansonia, grandchildren, Suzanne King-Smith (Noah) of Derby, Stacie Alterisio (Ralph) of Middlebury, Ronald V. Schmecker Jr. (Jennifer) of Naugatuck and Peter T. Schmecker (Brittany) of Agawam, MA. She treasured her great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Kade King-Smith, Ralphie and Stella Alterisio and Nathan and Abby Schmecker, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Ralph and Guy Boulay, son-in-law, Robert Krivda and dear friend, Barbara Vicdomino. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday morning, January 7, 2023, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to St. Augustine Church (St. Nicholas Parish), 35 Washington Avenue in Seymour for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
