Jadwiga Korniluk

Jadwiga Korniluk, 93, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, April 28, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of Joseph Korniluk of Poland, who passed away on July 4, 1960.

Jadwiga was born in Poland on April 13, 1924. She emigrated from Poland with her son, Stanley on May 15, 1964 and was a dedicated communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. She had been employed by Hershey Metal Products in Ansonia for twenty-five years, until her retirement in 1989. She then dedicated her life to the care of her grandchildren. Jadwiga was an avid gardener and loved to cook. 

Jadwiga was the loving mother of Stanley Korniluk and his wife Bogumila of Naugatuck, cherished grandmother to Joann Kokorus and her husband Richard of Northford and Thomas Korniluk and his wife, Angie Brown of Beacon Falls and loving great-grandmother to Alexander and Emilia Kokorus. She is survived by other family members including, Krystyna Rivas and family of Ansonia, Barbara Rafalowski and family of Wethersfield, Helena Gorajczyk and Irena and Michal Ferenc of Poland. She was predeceased by a sister, Janina Jedziniak. 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday April 30, 2017 from 2 – 4 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jadwiga’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett St., Ansonia, CT 06401 or through the funeral home.
