Jadwiga W. (Czyz) Nachtygal, age 70, entered eternal rest on April 11, 2025, at her home in Seymour.
She was the loving wife of Wieslaw “Wes” Nachtygal.Born in Rozogi, Poland on June 15, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Szczepan and Anna Czyz. Jadwiga immigrated to the United States in June of 1975 and resided in Seymour since 1980.
She was employed at Bic Pen in Milford. Jadwiga was considered an “unofficial florist” by her family and friends because she loved gardening and was amazing at creating flower arrangements. She was an extremely talented artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. She also took great pride in taking care of her home and decorating it beautifully for all occasions.
Jadwiga will always be remembered for her fashion sense and impeccable wardrobe. She was a devout communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Derby and a member of the Wawel Club of the Valley.
In addition to her husband Wes, Jadwiga leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Peter W. Nachtygal (Susan) of Amesbury, MA, a daughter, Joanne Nachtygal (Devin Roccisano) of Greenwich, a brother, Stanislaw Czyz (Halina) of Dabrowy, Poland, a sister, Krystyna Gieryk of NC, and grandchildren, Jack, and Lucy Nachtygal, along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to St. Michael’s Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
