Jaime R. Mestre Jr., 86, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 30, 2015, at the home of his daughter in Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of the late Darleane J. Tamburrino Mestre.
Mr. Mestre was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico on Sept. 19, 1928, son of the late Jaime and Maria Rivera Mestre Sr. A resident of Derby for many years, he was employed as a track foreman for Metro-North Railroad until his retirement. Jaime enjoyed vacationing, billiards, building model trains and watching wrestling.
He is survived by a son, Jaime A. Mestre III (Lorri) of FL, a daughter, Lisa Mestre-Lao (Joel) of Bridgeport, many brothers and sisters, 19 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 3, 2015, from 4 – 6 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 6:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Jaime’s life will take place. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
