James Convertito, age 49, of Shelton entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in St. Augustine, Florida.
He was the devoted husband of Kim (Hanley) Convertito.
Jimmy was born in Bridgeport on December 3, 1963 son of Melody Bigica and the late James Convertito.
Jimmy was raised in Bridgeport and was a Shelton resident until moving to Florida in 1991.
While in Florida, Jimmy owned and operated American Street Iron Motorcycle Shop.
He returned in 1998 to Connecticut and became employed as a lead mechanic at the City of Shelton Water Pollution Control and also owned and operator of his own repair shop.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, boater, motorcyclist and gun collector.
Jimmy leaves his loving children, Erin, Jason, and Maria Convertito, cherished grandchild, Jamie Coste, brother, John Piskura, sisters, Hope Kantorowski, Jeanna Armenakyan and Barbra Gober, Uncle Phil Convertitio, Aunt and Uncle Nancy and Ed Combini and several nieces and nephews, cousins.
He had so many friends and touched so many lives.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 ‑7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, CT.
On Thursday, friends are asked to meet directly at St. Joseph’s Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to an education fund for Jamie Coste in James’ memory.
