James Elliott Brown Jr., age 58, entered into eternal rest on December 11, 2020.
Elliott, as he was affectionately called, was born in Derby on February 7, 1962, beloved son of James E. “Mickey” Brown Sr. of Clinton and Carol Brockenberry Brown of Seymour. He was raised in Ansonia and attended Ansonia schools. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army National Guard, Elliott worked as a D.J. for local radio stations, and was later employed as a handyman/landscaper. Known lovingly as D.J. El-Rock in the Valley area, Elliott always shared his caring spirit, funny jokes, entertaining stories and joyous love of music with everyone, everywhere.
In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory, sons, James E. Brown III of Seymour and Jordan M. Brown of Ansonia, brothers, Nathaniel E. Brown (Kristen) of MA and Zachary J. Brown (Jennifer) of CT, sisters, Carla Brown of Ansonia, Su-Ellen Brown-Lancaster (Terrone) of Shelton and Tricia Johnson (Justus) of Waterbury, long-time companion Kathryn Wermuth of Ansonia and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Bonnie L. Brown.
