James F. Sangster, age 68, of Naugatuck entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 27, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Maria Carmen (Vallejo) Sangster.
James was born in Providence, RI on July 17, 1950, son of the late Morton and Ora (O’Hara) Sangster, and lived most of his life in Seymour before moving to Naugatuck with his wife.
Before retiring, he spent his years as an electrical engineer notably working at Perkin Elmer on the Hubble Space Telescope. James was a true family man and loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time in his workshop, woodworking, remodeling his home, gardening, watching the Yankees and attending all of his grandchildren’s recitals and events.
He is the proud, beloved and devoted father of Stephanie (Justin) Lanteri, Renee (Loic) Descoutures , Danielle (Andy Flach) Sangster and Richard Sangster. He cherished his grandchildren, Olivia, Nicholas, Cayden, Adelyn, Maya, Kiarra, Leala, Kora, Landon, Madison, Evie, and Danielle, and great-granddaughter Marley. James also leaves a brother, Kenneth, five sisters, Joan, Jean, Janet, Judy, and Joyce, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Earl, Richard, and Morton Sangster.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton.
