James G. Allbert, age 51, of Derby entered into rest on Wednesday July 7, 2021 in his home. He was born in Derby on October 27, 1969 son of James Allbert and the late Helen Marie Allbert and was a lifelong Derby resident.
Jimmy was employed for many years as a social worker for the State of CT. Jimmy loved to play basketball, baseball and football while he was growing up. He loved to play cards, cook and most especially spend time with his children and family. He was a former football coach for the championship-winning Milford Eagles and a record-holding athlete at Derby High School.
He is the beloved father of Kathleen Marie Allbert and James Thomas Allbert and brother of Donna Hooker and her husband David, and Diane Pierog and her husband Dr. Walter, uncle of Amanda Pierog and her husband Swe Htet Naing, Grace and Faith Hooker. He will also be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends may greet his family on Sunday July 11, 2021 from 2 to 5 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday July 12, 2021 at 12:00 noon in St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St. Derby, Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. The family has asked that those who are not vaccinated please wear masks when attending.
