James G. Farquharson, age 68, entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband of forty-seven years to Wanda Moore Farquharson.
James was born in New Haven on March 23, 1953, son of the late James G. and Ruth Hinkley Farquharson. He was raised in East Haven, where he graduated from East Haven High School in 1972 and has been a resident of Derby since 1974. James was employed as a Machine Mechanic for the former W.E. Bassett Company in Shelton for twenty-three years and later for Precision Tool in Shelton for seven years until his retirement in 2018. James was an avid fisherman and a thirty-year member of the Naugatuck Valley Bass Masters Club. He also enjoyed duck hunting and most importantly camping with his family.
In addition to his wife Wanda, he leaves to cherish his memory, sons, James G. Farquharson III of West Haven and Kevin M. Farquharson Sr. of Seymour, brothers Lance Farquharson of New Haven, Wayne Farquharson of Pennsylvania and Joseph Farquharson of Clinton, sisters, Sherry Farquharson of Killingworth, and Tracy Viglione of New Haven, grandchildren, Macayla Sauer and Kevin Farquharson Jr., along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Hazel Lanier and Noreen Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Interment in East Lawn Cemetery in East Haven will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made directly to the family to help with final expenses.
