James McGrath, best known as Jim, was born and grew up in Shelton and currently a resident of Seymour CT.
He belonged to and was active with, the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, Special Friends Group and the Self Advocacy Group.
Jim worked at VARCA for many years, the Big Y, the Bassett Company and most recently at St. Vincent’s.
Jim leaves behind a large circle of friends and acquaintances –Ed, Carol, Bob, Alyssa and Claire – who shared his home as well as his RMS staff who had the good fortune to work with him. Jim is also leaving his good friends Robert and Sharon Laccone and Gary Wabuda- and many others too numerous to name.
Jim loved telling stories, traveling, reminiscing about days gone by. He is best known for his quick wit, his sweet smile and his wise cracking ways. He will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 10:30 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. CT (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Friends may call on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the service begins. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
