James “Jimmy” P. Sottosanti Jr. age 72, devoted & beloved husband, father and grandfather and resident of Shelton, entered into eternal rest July 24.
He was born March 2, 1945 in Stamford, son of the late James P. Sr. and Phyllis Viviano Sottosanti.
James was a Veteran of The U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in the automotive business for over 50 years, most recently with Huntington Center Gulf. He was an avid N.Y. Yankees & Giants fan and loved Saturday morning breakfasts at Sassafras Restaurant, but will be remembered first and foremost as a loving and devoted family man.
In addition to his wife Claire (Bonina) Sottosanti, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Jill Sottosanti & husband Mark Malinovsky of Trumbull, and Melissa Sproles and husband Christopher of Seymour, granddaughters Kayla, Kelsey & Kassie Sproles of Seymour, sister Carol Howard of Stamford, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Salvatore & Mary Bonina of Stamford, sister-in-law Sally Anne Bonina of Shelton, best friend of 59 years Dale Cracas and wife Kathy of Stamford and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28 at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (http://www.jenkinskingfh.com) Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service begins. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Monroe.
