James Wityak, 55 of Seymour, the loving husband of 33 years to Linda Merando Wityak, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.
He was born in Derby, on September 5, 1959 the beloved son of Angeline Sperandeo Wityak of Harleysville, Pa., and the late John Wityak.
Jim was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church of Seymour and a former member of the church choir. He was a 4th degree member of Aurora Council No. 53 Knights of Columbus of Seymour. Jim was a graduate of Emmett O’Brien Technical School, Class of 1977 and was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Sacred Heart University of Fairfield, Class of 1981 and received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Jim was the owner of the accounting firm James Wityak, CPA, PC of Milford. He was a professional member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jim was a professional trumpet player for 20 years and played for The Internationals. He was a Seymour Soccer and Basketball Coach. He was an avid coin collector, NASCAR racing fan, N.Y. Yankee Baseball team enthusiast and enjoyed traveling and watching the N.Y. Giants and UCONN Men’s Basketball team play. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and many friends but will always remain forever in our hearts.
In addition to his loving wife Linda and his mother Angeline his family includes his cherished children daughter Jennifer L. Wityak and son Nicholas J. Wityak both of Seymour, a brother John (Ellen) Wityak of Carlsbad, Ca., a sister Barbara ( Bruce ) Tomczuk of Collegeville, Pa., a sister in law Debra (Michael) Gardiner of Shelton and several loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service in Celebration of James’s Life will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour. Interment in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, November 25, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association, through the funeral home. Please Note members of the Aurora Council No.53 will meet at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm.
