Jane Rickel, age 90, of Shelton, was called to heaven on August 22, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Rickel.
She was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Arthur and Cloris Domschine (Hoyt) and was a lifelong resident of Shelton.
Jane is survived by her three sons, Charles A. Rickel and his wife Caryn, William Rickel and his wife Eileen, James Rickel and his wife Holly, their families, and her devoted partner Loring Stannard.
Jane dedicated her life to her home and her family and most of all she was a devoted mother. Nothing brought her more joy than being with her family during the Christmas holidays. She also took care of her beloved dogs. She enjoyed camping, square dancing, and decorating during the Christmas holiday season. She worked many years as a nursery school teacher, before retiring.
Her funeral and burial was private at Lawn Cemetery Shelton. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton is entrusted with the arrangements.
