Jean L. (Lombardi) Michalak, age 92, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 8, 2022, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Michalak.
Jean was born in Derby on July 8, 1930, daughter of the late Pasquale and Michelina Giarratano Lombardi. A graduate of Ansonia High School, she was employed as a supervisor at the former Southern New England Telephone in Derby for twenty-six years, until her retirement in 1986. Jean enjoyed painting beautiful wall art and loved to travel. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, sang with the Melodeers singing group, and was active in all the Valley senior centers.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Lawrence M. Michalak (Loreen) of Shelton, daughter-in-law, Claire Michalak of Ansonia, grandchildren, Joseph J. Michalak III of Oxford, James S. Michalak (Lauren) of Seymour, Kimberly A. Floyd (Campbell) of Culver City, CA, and Michael L. Michalak (Rosemary) of North Haven, along with a niece and nephew and several cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph J. Michalak Jr. and her brother, Ralph J. Lombardi.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, all are welcome to attend her funeral by meeting directly at 10:30 am at St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane in Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby.
