Jean M. Cavagnuolo, 92, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2017, in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank P. “Peanuts” Cavagnuolo.
Mrs. Cavagnuolo was born in Ansonia on July 24, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Fusti Tramontana. A resident of Derby since 1965, she was employed at H.C. Cook Co., W.E. Bassett Co., Hull Dye and retired as an inspector from Schick Razor in Milford. Jean was a member of the former St. Michael’s Ladies Society and Ritz Club in Ansonia, St. Jude Church Ladies Guild and former East Side Italian Ladies Club in Derby and Ansonia Senior Center. Jean was a top notch bowler and received many awards.
She is survived by loving sons, Frank Cavagnuolo Jr. (Moira), Daniel Cavagnuolo and Louis Cavagnuolo all of Derby, a caring sister, Marge Macciocca of Ansonia, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph Jr., Victor, Albert and Eric Tramontana and sisters, Phyllis Pogozelski and Josephine Osiecki.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2017, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday, her funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
